Are You Willing To Lose Everything?
Way before I was a photographer and way, way before I was a graphic designer I was a musician. I was 11 years old when I first started to play guitar while I was about 15 when I picked up my first SLR. It was much later at the age of around 28 that I become interested in graphic design.
Music plays a big part in my life as can be seen by my love of concert photography. And, from time to time, I’ll immerse myself back into the creation and composing side of music. As with my graphic design poster project I thought that I’d do something for myself again and set myself the task of composing every day for 3 weeks. To help achieve this I limited myself to short pieces akin to stings or short themes that you might hear on TV as intro music to shows.
My main interest in is rock and alternative music but the very first instrument that I started to learn to play was the piano before the impatient whacks on the backs of my hands by my piano teacher precipitated a change of direction into the lawlessness of low-slung rock ‘n’ roll guitar playing.
But the more classical leanings suited to piano can be heard on many of the tracks here that I uploaded to my Old Garbo SoundCloud page. Old Garbo? Well, we all need an alias at some point in our lives I think.
